Sea
Angling
Sea
Angling Donegal
bay has some of the best fishing in the country with a wide variety of
species to be caught. Species caught during the 2006 season include
Shark, Skate, Tope, Rays, Turbot, Conger, Ling, Cod, Pollack, Coley,
Gurnards, John Dory, Plaice, Flounder, Dab, Megrim, Dog Fish and Wrasse
well over thirty species in all.
Irish Deep-Sea Angling
is associated with charter boats and is a very
sociable form of angling. We fish for such species as Ling, Cod,
Pollack, and Wrasse from the many reef, and for tope and flatfish over
sandy broken ground. Charter boat fishing is lively and interesting even
before a line is cast; the skipper will assemble a group of anglers who
may or may not know each other at the beginning of the day, but who will
surely be well acquainted by the end of it, especially if they have had
sport with a good catch. Tackle can be hired, so all the angler needs is
a good set of waterproofs and a sense of adventure

Whale Seal & Dolphin Watch
We encounter Minke Whale, Common Dolphin, Bottlenose Dolphin, and Harbour
Porpoise, Basking Shark, and Sunfish on a regular bases in Donegal Bay.
Dolphins in the right conditions the will play around the boat. Common
Dolphin and Bottlenose Dolphins are often found in large, socially active
groups and are often seen, bow-riding, surfing, lob tailing and breaching.
They can leap several metres out of the water. Bottlenose, like many other
whales and dolphins, are social animals. They tend to live in family groups
called 'schools'. these Schools can contain anything from just two or three
dolphins to over fifty.

Sightseeing
The
Donegal coastline is washed by some of the cleanest and clearest seas in
Europe. It is also one of the most varied, with dramatic cliffs such as
Slieve League and sandy beaches.
The
Slieve League ( Grey Mountain) cliffs, situated to the
North of Donegal Bay, are the highest and one of the finest marine
cliffs in Europe. Sail under Slieve League Bunglass Cliffs the amazing
cliff face rises up 600m above the Atlantic waves.
Views of Aughrus Point Bundoran, the famous
Rougey walk and Fairy Bridges . The landscape surrounding these
cliffs makes for an abundance of scenery.
There are terrific views of the Sligo and Donegal Mountains Truskmore
and Kings Mountain To the South West is the magnificent
Benbulben; where beneath its shadow is the grave of the poet
and writer W.B Yeats at Drumcliffe churchyard.
Innismurray Island:
was home up to 100 people until they left for the
mainland in the 1950s. Today, Inishmurray Island contains some of the most
complete remains of an early Irish monastic settlement as well as the
ruins of its nineteenth century houses. The remains of the village are
on the south side of the island, as is the Cashel which contains pre
Christian and early Christian antiquarian remains such as cursing
stones, altars, beehive cells, etc. Undisturbed for many years it has a
vast variety of fantastic plants and is home to many birds and wildlife.
